Accessory Ventilation Kit
Along side the mandatory exhaust ventilation you can opt in to purchase some extra ventilation piping to bring in outside air. If you want the most out of your stove and don't mind the extra work, we'd highly recommend it. Let's break down the pros and cons:
Pros |
Cons |
Improved Efficiency Outdoor air means the stove isn't competing for the indoor air and there will be a more complete combustion |
Additional Cost The materials add to the project cost and you may end up needing professional help |
Enhanced Safety More complete combustion means less carbon monoxide and better air quality |
Aesthetic & Space Depending on the location the piping may detract from the ambiance of the room |
Potential Improved Longevity Better air quality means less dust or other pollutants that might build up and potentially slowly wear down your stove |
Limited Impact in Some Environments: In homes with sufficient ventilation or where indoor air quality is not a significant concern, the benefits of an external air intake may not justify the cost and effort. |
|
More To Maintain Introducing an additional component means there's one more thing to maintain and potentially troubleshoot over time, adding to the overall upkeep of the pellet stove. |
